Whitemead Forest Park - Frequently Asked Questions
What time can we check in at Whitemead Forest Park?
For caravan and camping pitches you are invited to check in from 2pm and for accommodation you can check in from 3pm. However, if you arrive to Whitemead Forest Park earlier than intended you are welcome to use the Park's facilities in the meantime.
What time do we need to check out by on our departure date?
If you are using a caravan or camping pitch you are asked to check out by 11am on your departure date. For accommodation your check out is at 10am.
What deposit do I have to pay?
For part week stays in a log cabin, apartment or the bungalow you'll pay a £75 deposit, and £150 for a full week. If you're booking a pitch, a £20 desposit is payable for a part week, and £50 for a full week.
If you're staying for longer than a week on any accommodation or on a pitch, a part or full week's deposit will be charged dependent on the duration of your stay. The full balance will be payable six weeks before your arrival date. Please note that deposits are non-refundable.
Are pets allowed to stay at Whitemead?
Yes, pets are allowed at Whitemead in caravans and certain types of accommodation. There is a small additional charge and notification of their attendance must be made at time of booking.
Do you have pet free lodges?
Pets are not allowed in any first floor Premier Apartments and a selected number of ground floor Premier Apartments, Deluxe and Deluxe Plus Log Cabins. Please check when booking.
Do mobile phones work at Whitemead?
Most mobile networks do not provide coverage, however there are two payphones on site.
Do you have accommodation suitable for the less-able?
Yes, a few of the Premier Apartments are suitable but not all, therefore early booking is advised.
What is included in the cost of a Log Cabin and Apartment?
Heating and electricity is included within the cost of a Log Cabin or Apartment as well as bed linen and towels. Log Cabins and Apartments include fully equipped kitchens and lounge areas.
What activities are available at Whitemead?
Whitemead has an impressive range of leisure facilities which include a heated indoor swimming pool with separate area for children, a sauna and Jacuzzi as well as a fully equipped gymnasium. There are also indoor and outdoor play areas and a games room, plus regularly organised activities. There is also an on-site Health and Beauty Salon.
Is bicycle hire available?
Bike hire is available at Pedalabikeaway ». The forest has a family cycle trail which leads right past the gates of Whitemead Forest Park and is about 17 miles long. People staying at the Park can store their bikes on the balconies of the Log Cabins and The Bungalow. Bike hooks have been fitted to the Apartments so bikes can be locked securely, however we DO NOT provide bike locks.
Do you have a site shop?
Yes. Our on-site shop/off licence is open daily and can cater for all your requirements from basic groceries and newspapers, caravan and camping accessories and pet food to souvenirs and children's toys. You can also pre order grocery/housekeeping hampers to be delivered to your accommodation before you arrive by calling 0845 345 3425
Do you have internet access?
Wireless internet is available, please ask for the password to gain access at Reception.
Is Whitemead Forest Park open to non-residents?
We welcome non-residents on site to use our eating and drinking facilities, and health & beauty salon during our normal opening hours. An annual Escape Leisure Club Pass can be purchased which gives you full access to our facilities including our swimming pool. However, we do ask that under 18’s are accompanied by an adult (a valid proof of age photo ID may be required).
